Ancestrais Capoeira - Perth (Highly Recommended)

HERE IT IS!!!!
Where I cut my teeth in the art of Capoeira and where my passion was ignited for training. Ancestrais Capoeira is a relatively new venture led by Professor Leonides 'Gringo' Santos.

An absolute gentleman and someone I consider a close friend, Gringo has thought me a lot...about Capoeira and movements, about humility and persistance and also about the amazing feeling that you get when someone welcomes you into a school without pretentiousness.

Being in Perth and due in no small part to it's isolation from the rest of the world, Ancestrais Capoeira conducts performances on a hectic schedule. From corporate events to charity functions Gringo and his partner Shireen constantly have their finger on the pulse with more and more events being put on to an already busy schedule.

What to expect -

Being trained at a pace completely decided by yourself. As a beginner, you will be tested, but not overawed by the techniques you will learn. For intermediates and more experienced Capoeiristas, I'm sure you will also have equals at Ancestrais Capoeira to compare notes with. Also expect dedicated students who train both Capoeira and gymnastics (Ying Li's Gymnastics School).

Training times -

Everyday except for Thursday's and Sunday's. Check website as times vary.
Gymnastics classes under instruction from Gringo are held at Ying Li's on Saturday afternoons
Most Friday nights will involve a street perfomance on Murray Street mall in Perth city. It is great for beginners to come out of their shell and clap and sing with the group and also show off their Capoeira skills for the world to see.

Cost -

$15 AUD for casual class
$120 AUD for a 10 session pass.
Check website for paying by the month, it varies depending on how often you wish to train.
